What this means for patients

This report describes how Beijing Anzhen Hospital is using artificial intelligence and medical robots to support cardiac care, including an AI-assisted ultrasound system and a full-chain AI solution for heart disease. It is hospital news rather than a report of a new treatment, and the article does not give details on which patients can receive these services or how well the technology performs. Patients should treat this as background information and discuss their own care with their treating doctors.

On October 14, at the Tongzhou Campus of Beijing Anzhen Hospital (首都医科大学附属北京安贞医院), a physician used an integrated cardiac ultrasound device, assisted by the Xinyu large model, to perform cardiac ultrasound scanning.

Relying on artificial intelligence to empower smart healthcare, Beijing Anzhen Hospital has introduced multiple medical robots and online convenience systems, streamlining the medical visit process, improving diagnosis and treatment efficiency, optimizing medical services, and promoting the reach of high-quality medical resources across the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.

The Tongzhou Campus of Beijing Anzhen Hospital is the first approved “robot + medical care” application demonstration unit in Beijing, and nearly 20 types of robots have been put into clinical trial use in the nearly two years since it opened. Drawing on data from the National Center for Cardiovascular Diseases, the hospital has built AI modules for early warning and screening, precise diagnosis and treatment, surgical navigation, and follow-up management, constructing a full-chain AI diagnosis and treatment solution for cardiac diseases from screening, image interpretation, and surgical planning to postoperative management.
