About the hospital
Peking University First Hospital is a large general hospital in central Beijing, founded in 1915 and often described as one of the earliest state-run hospitals in China. It began as a clinic attached to a Beijing medical school, joined Peking University in 1946, and has carried its current name since 2000. Today it is a Grade 3A comprehensive hospital administered by China's National Health Commission, combining patient care, teaching, research and prevention. In 2019 it was recognised as host of the National Clinical Research Center for Skin and Immune Diseases. It is a teaching hospital of Peking University Health Science Center.
