Xinhua Hospital is a Grade 3A general teaching hospital affiliated with Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. It was founded in 1958 and is described as the first general hospital designed and built by Shanghai itself after the founding of the People's Republic of China. The hospital combines patient care with teaching and research. For international patients, it runs the Jinglang Special Needs and International Medical Department.
