Beijing Anzhen Hospital, affiliated with Capital Medical University, officially opened on 14 April 1984. It is closely linked to the Beijing Institute of Heart, Lung and Blood Vessel Diseases, which was founded in 1981. Anzhen is a Grade 3A general hospital whose main focus is the diagnosis and treatment of heart, lung and blood vessel diseases. It was among the first institutions named as a National Clinical Research Center for Cardiovascular Diseases. The hospital combines patient care with teaching and research.
